Let’s Get Out the Vote

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Dear Friend of CQE,

Citizens for Quality Education has moved into high gear as we get ready for the School Board Elections which will take place on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, from 2 PM until 9 PM.

In an effort to get everyone involved in this important election to vote for the school budget and for members of the school board, we have officially begun our annual New Voter Registration Drive and Absentee Ballot Drive.  Over the last week, 25 new voters have been registered and over 30 absentee ballot applications have been emailed to those Metuchenites who have in the past requested absentee ballots through CQE.  Because we remember a time not so long ago in Metuchen’s history when a school budget went down by only 19 votes, CQE is doing everything possible to get out the vote to support the budget.

If you know someone who needs to register to vote (perhaps a new neighbor or a young voter who will turn 18 by April 20), please encourage him or her to do so. If you can think of someone who may not always get to the polls or someone who is away at college, please let them know about using absentee ballots. You can download an absentee ballot application or a voter registration form on our Website (www.metuchencqe.org) where you can also find important filing dates. Just click on “BOE Elections” on the right side bar.

Thank you for helping to get out the vote.

Best regards,

Jim Jaques, President

Jo Ann Sabatino-Falkenstein, Vice President

Kathy Liss, Vice President
