Vincent Caputo is Selected to be the Next Superintendent of the Metuchen Schools

Dear CQE Supporter:

At their December 6 meeting, the members of the Board of Education appointed Mr. Vincent Caputo as the Superintendent of the Metuchen Public Schools.  CQE appreciates the Board’s diligence in conducting a thorough search and the many hours they spent in making their selection.  Mr. Caputo is a great choice for Metuchen.

As Assistant Superintendent of the Clark Public Schools, Mr. Caputo was a strong advocate for academic achievement and high expectations for all students.  For the last two school years in a row, Clark was named to the National College Board’s prestigious Advanced Placement District Honor Roll for increasing AP participation among its students while, at the same time, increasing the percentage of passing scores.  And among its peer districts, Clark sends a high percentage of their graduates directly on to a four-year college.

Prior to his tenure at Clark, Mr. Caputo was Supervisor of Math and Science at the Cranford Public Schools.  CQE believes that with his support, Metuchen’s newly designed Science curriculum and program will become even more promising for all students in K-12.

Board President Eileen Frowenfeld said of Mr. Caputo: “He is an approachable leader who supports the education of the whole child. . . His expertise in curriculum development and instruction and his collaborative personality are strong assets.”
