BOE Elections

THE METUCHEN BOROUGH COUNCIL HAS MOVED THE BOARD OF EDUCATION ELECTIONS TO NOVEMBER FOR 2014.  STAY POSTED FOR MORE INFORMATION.

………………………………………………………………………………………………………
CQE supports strong school budgets and encourages everyone to vote YES on the annual budget question. Programs and services cannot be added or maintained without passing the budget.  We believe Metuchenites will vote YES for a budget that has value and that provides our students with the necessary resources to succeed in college and in life.

CQE advocates for all students at every grade and every level so that each can reach his/her best. Our students must be academically competitive with students in our state and across the country.  To that end, CQE believes that the most qualified candidates should serve on the Board of Education, those who’ll work to ensure each student’s individual success.

Advocacy begins with the electoral process. Our organization asks questions to the candidates for the Board of Education about educational issues and academics. We publish their answers so that the public can learn about the candidates and be informed voters.

In addition to supporting the school budget and asking questions of the candidates each year, CQE encourages all Metuchenites to vote by running an Absentee Ballot Drive and a New Voter Registration Drive.

Please help get out the word that there's an election on April 16 and that it's extremely important to vote YES for the budget. Especially, while our town still has the privilege of voting for a school budget. Other NJ districts have given up their vote for the budget by moving their school board elections to November, but our Board of Education has chosen to keep the school election separate from the November political election and to preserve our right to vote. Would you take a sign? Starting tomorrow, these signs will be slowly popping up on lawns in Metuchen. Please send a private message to me with your address and we'll get you one of your very own, just like the one you see here. Thanks! Please feel free to share.
